Mike Amendola

Coach Amendola is in his sixth season as head varsity coach at his Alma mater  -  Clarkstown South HS(1995).  In 2018, Coach Amendola led the team to a very successful season which was capped off with the League Championship and Section title - the 1st in school history! In addition, in 2015, he was awarded 2015 League Coach of the Year and 2015 Conference 2 Coach of the Year to the 2015 team who were also League Champions. Coach Amendola came to Clarkstown South after a five year stint at Yonkers, where he help to rebuild the Yonkers high school Baseball Program.  Coach Amendola was selected as MSG varsity Hudson Valley 2011 Coach of the Year, leading Yonkers to a top four seed in section one Class A.  His coaching career begin as a Freshman head coach and varsity assistant at Suffern High School (ten years) he guided his teams to four Rockland County Championships.  During his tenure at Suffern, Coach Amendola was awarded assistant Coach of the Year by the Rockland County Athletic Directors. Currently, he is an adaptive Physical Education Teacher working with special needs students in Yonkers.

Joe Farina

Coach Farina has been coaching youth travel baseball for over the past 10 years with numerous baseball clubs, including the Generals Baseball Academy, Stars Baseball Club and Armonk Bobcats Travel Organization. During his time as a professional paid coach he has taken 8 different teams to Cooperstown Dreams Park and has coached teams ranging from 11u -17u in various tournaments and leagues.  Farina has a wealth of baseball knowledge and a real enthusiasm to teaching the fundamentals of baseball.

Donnie Roth

Coach Roth is currently the assistant Varsity coach at Clarkstown South High School.

His love of the game and instruction of our youth has been demonstrated by his work at multiple summer camps and baseball academies throughout the tri-state area.  He is currently the Assistant Varsity Coach for his alma mater Clarkstown North HS and a head coach for Generals JV teams. Coach Roth has also coached Hardball-NY, Pro Swing and RiverDogs Baseball Travel Teams since 2009.

During his playing days, Coach Roth was a standout three year starting varsity player at Clarkstown North HS.  He was selected All-league and All-county for three consecutive years.  He went on to play Division II baseball at Concordia College.

Joe Zeccardi

Coach Zeccardi comes to the Generals with his years of experience at the High School and College levels. Zeccardi served as Head Coach for Rockland Community College for 11 seasons from 2004-2014. During his tenure as skipper he guided his teams to three Mid Hudson Region and Conference Championships which led to him being named head Coach of the Year in 2015.

Since 2016, he has been serving as Assitant Varsity Baseball Coach at Albertus Magnus High School since 2016. Since that time, Albertus has won 2 section champaionships and was named Rockland County Assistant Coach Of The Year. Zeccardi is also heavily involved at the youth levels. He has been a volunteer coach for New City Little League from 2014 to present and was named the All Star team coach at the 10u level.

In addition to his coaching resume, Zeccardi is New York State Certified Physical Education Teacher K-12 and NYS Certified CPR, First Aid, AED and Concussion. Coach Zeccardi is truly vested in helping players within the Generals Organization to get them ready for the next level.

Pat Gorman

Coach Gorman played H.S. Baseball at Albertus Magnus where he was All League, All County, All Section, All State, Section 1 Pitcher of the year & All American Drafted out of RCC in the 45th round as a draft & follow by The NY Mets & played as a pitcher in their organization for 4 years before being traded to The Baltimore Orioles for All Star Shortstop Mike Bordick where he played 3 more years before retiring because of arm injuries.

Pat won 4 Minor League Championships.- Played for the Irish National Baseball team for 2 seasons.

 

  • Coached the 22U Rockland Brewers for 4 years making it to the NABF World Series in Toledo Ohio finishing 5th in the country.
  • Coached 10U Rockland Rampage for 3 years to league championship and multiple tournament championships.
  • Coached New City Generals 14 & 15 U winning The Bergen Classic Tournament.
  • Coached 18U Rockland Astros for 5 years  guiding over 30 kids to NCAA Div I II & III schools. with 5 players being drafted or signing to a Major League Organization.
  • Coached 10U, 11U & 12U Travel fall, spring & summer for All Star Baseball Academy in Broomall PA.
  • Coached at Nyack College as the Pitching Coach for 2 years winning the Conference in his first year for the first time in school history.
  • Coached at his Alma Mater Albertus Magnus HS for

7 years turning around a losing program.

Pat has coached travel baseball for over 18 years at multiple levels amassing over 1000 wins. He has been a Private Instructor of Pitching, Hitting & Catching. Pat has been sharing his passion & knowledge of Baseball since retiring in 2003.

 

Dennis Covert 

Coach Covert coached for twelve years at Clarkstown High School North, his alma mater, where he helped lead the Rams to one freshman county championship and one JV county championship during his tenure.  Dennis has also managed and coached in New City Little League, and has been a manager and coach in the Generals organization every year since our inception. A teacher for 15 years and science department chair for 10 years at Clarkstown North, before accepting a position at Byram Hills High School in Armonk where he currently teaches physics, Coach Covert always demonstrates an interest in his players' development beyond just their athletic abilities.  Coach Covert is currently the head JV coach at Byram Hills.  Dennis' coaching strengths include instructing catchers, teaching base running, developing a hitting approach, and all aspects of the mental side of the game.

Mac Delapaz

Coach Delapaz has been around that game of baseball his whole life. Mac was a three year Varsity starter at Clarkstown South High School and was named to the All Section team as the teams starting shortstop and lead off hitter. After his illustrious High School career came to a close, he moved on to play at Rockland Community College where he was named Captain earning honors to the All Region Team. Coach Delapaz continued his playing career at Division 1 Hofsta University and various Independent Leagues througout the North East. Mac has also coached and taught youth baseball at various camps, including West Point and The Rich Martin All Star Camp. Coach Delapaz prides himself on and off the field and is excited to teach players the right way to play the game.

Anthony Magnelli

Coach Magnelli played Professional Baseball for 4 years (3 years in the St. Louis Cardinals Organization as a pitcher)
Dominican College Baseball Hall of Fame - 6 Time All America at 3 different positions. Drafted in the 39th round of MLB draft in 1993.
Coached at Dominican College - Pitching coach - Helped lead the team to 2 NAIA World Series. Coached 5 pitchers who had signed professional contracts.

Eric Nanton

Coach Nanton is a lifelong Rockland resident and Clarkstown North graduate. He is a certified personal trainer, movement specialist, sports and conditioning coach, baseball coach and instructor. As a three sport athlete in High Scool, Eric has always had a passion for sports. Eric graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Sports Marketing and continued to play baseball at Clemson. In addition to training and coaching our Generals teams, he currently plays in a semi-pro men’s league.

Bill Sullivan

Coach Sullivan is owner and founder of the Hardball Training Center in Elmsford, NY. Sullivan served as the Head Baseball Coach at NCAA Division II Mercy College for 15 years. During his tenure he coached several All-Conference honorees, including Japan League and former Major League pitcher Brian Sweeney.

Sullivan began his coaching career after playing for legendary skipper and mentor Gene McDonald at La Salle, a NCAA Division I program. He first served as an assistant coach for three years at Mercy College under Timmy Kelly, before taking the helm for the 1994-95 campaign.

Sullivan's baseball background reaches beyond the collegiate level as he has also directed and instructed at numerous youth camps and clinics, including Triple Play Baseball Academy, Cooperstown Diamond National Youth Baseball Academy, University of Miami, Barry University, and Mercy College. During his career he has instructed hundreds of aspiring young athletes, with many alumni going on to collegiate careers.

Sullivan was a three-sport athlete at Clarkstown North, participating in baseball, football, and basketball. During his final year he was selected to play in the Exceptional Seniors Game. He began his own collegiate career at Nichols College, where he posted a 5-3 record as a starting pitcher during his freshman season under coach Al Makasion. Sullivan transferred to La Salle, playing three years under McDonald. He pitched and played the infield during his career with the Explorers.

Sullivan also carries a strong educational background, serving as a teacher for a combined 12 years at Preston High School and Clarkstown North High School. Prior to that he played for three years at Division I La Salle University where he pitched and played the infield.

Sullivan is a founding member and has been instrumental in building the Generals program from the ground up. He also has served on the Board Of Directors as the Director of Player Development and has coached multiple Generals teams over the years.

Joe Maggino 

Joe Maggino played four years of high school as a pitcher  at Clarkstown South (1995).  He then played at RCC for two years.  Coach Maggino was assistant coach at Suffern High School under Coach Amendola for ten years.

Spencer Samelson

Varsity Assistant and Freshman Baseball Coach for Clarkstown South High School in 2022. Graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 2010 … played two seasons of varsity baseball for the Tigers …helped Mamaroneck win the New York State Baseball AA Championship in 2009. Pitched for #2 Nationally ranked Onondaga Community College in 2012 that set a program record with 47 wins, then started on the mound for Manhattanville College for two seasons. After Manhattanville, graduated from Syracuse University with an MBA and then a MS in Negotiation & Conflict Resolution from Columbia University. In addition to coaching currently works as the Chief Operating Officer for a Learning & Development organization.
